  1. Seems pretty straightforward to me. By most accounts, AQIM is mostly a co-opting of a brand. The GSPC’s efforts are almost exclusively limited to Kabylie and the capital, and are designed to undermine the Algerian regime. I remain convinced that the GSPC’s campaign is an Algerian-specific operation, and any ties to the broader sphere of global terrorism are tenuous and convenient at best. Oh, and the Saharan smuggling. They all share that common goal.
